Does anyone have any information regarding the wearing of dirty PPE clothing in canteen areas. I recently started at a company where they allow employees who have been working with oil/machine fluids to wear their PPE clothing in the canteen area.

I am attempting to persuade Management to stop this practice and would be grateful for any assistance.

This hasn't been allowed anywhere that I've worked. I'm sure others will say the same. Can you shame them into stopping this practice?

Also, para 231 of the welfare regs ACoP may help make the case: http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/l24.pdf

Even more relevant are the COSHH Regulation 7, ACoP & Guidance on facilities for washing, changing, eating and drinking -paras 163 to 166 and Regulation 8, Use of control measures --paras 167 & 168
