Hi All,

I'm currently residing in Queensland Australia (2 1/2 years), working as a Senior HSE Advisor within the mining/civil construction industry and have had a number of different roles including HSE operational/functional roles.

Previous to Australia I was working in the Middle East for 4 years on the $15 billion dollar Doha International Airport project, as an HSE Advisor/Manager.

I have only worked in the UK as a Health and Safety Practitioner for about 6 months after first completing the NEBOSH Construction certificate, I have since gained the NEBOSH International Diploma certificate (2011) GradIOSH.

The companies and clients I have worked for during my time are some of the largest construction and mining organisations globally, and have provided great experience and exposure to HSE Management within construction.

My question is in regards to finding work within HSE back in the UK after spending so much time overseas, i.e. will this be a hurdle - Mainly due to potential employers thinking I wont have updated legislation knowledge?

I have a good understanding of the Australian legislation which is very similar to the UK, pretty much adopted and I still keep up to date with the UK legislation.

Looking to come home.

Thanks
Mark

There is still a recession and companies are using this as an excuse, recession or not, to get away with poor wages &/or having no competent support anyway especially so as the HSE is not what it was nor is it likely to be ever again

that said a good person will always get work
