Does anyone know why local authority stress initiatives run by H R Managers and Officers have a habit of being reluctant to include reference to the HSE stews management tool... Do the CIPD have concerns with work never being the cause of stress...? Has anyone on here any ideas how to change the mindset of this key work group r how to change their training.. Very frustrating

I questioned the HSE when the first draft of the MStandards etc. were proposed and the lead HSE rep said that as H&S did not usually sit at the top table they [the hSE] were going in via HR as HR did sit at the top table - what an opportunity missed!!!!! As for changing mind sets; well enough said as its not going to happen in my life time!!

Bob. Thanks for that, I avespoken to Jan Chimel about The HR profession 'trumping' us and am hoping as Chief Executive he can at the very least level the playing field. Part of me feels this inaction is a collective professional breach of Section 36 of the H&S@ W Act as well as Section 7 on an individual level. I do feel that the trades unions should and cold tap into this but am not convinced they have the academic talent to question and evidence employers. Its actually quite sad.
