Hi
I do not know who would be in a position to provide such information or whether there would be a world record due to the differing standards and methods of classifying and recording of accidents/incidents in different countries.
Also I am pretty sure it would require some kind of independant verification body. Well done though.

Not sure there is a world record as such - but hugely impressive if verifiable! It equates to a team of 3000 people working 2000 hours per year for ten years... That is a huge project!

Guinness World Records do not currently have anything on their site for safety records - may be an opportunity to establish a baseline for others to aim at?

JGC in Qatar have just achieved 125 Million. RasGas RGX2 project in Qatar achieved 121 Million in 2007.

I remember, in my early years, our project reached 2 million hrs and i felt quite proud of my own small role (it was small) in this. Shortly afterward my pride suffered a catastrophic fall when I observed some other far off project had hit 6 million hrs... oops.
As I've grown into this job I now realise the effort that goes into achieving one or even two million man-hours. It's not easy, in fact it's very, very hard.
In my humble opinion, there's a level of 'man-hours' above which I don't think it's possible to get to. Certainly some of the higher figures quoted make me smile.
I'm thinking you're having me on.

Some of these numbers in Qatar make me wonder why current estimates of fatalities for Q22 world cup are 4000.
It's easier to hide the lost time injuries than the fatalities but even these can be massaged.
When I was in Dubai one year the local press noted that the Municipality had counted 49 fatals in the previous year but the Indian subcontinent had counted up the return of 900 body bags.
