Just looking for some guidelines on what is reasonable to offer our employees, in terms of price and range of prescription eyewear. Price or national suppliers?

Hi, Personally I used to pay for the eye test and provide £50 toward any glasses that were needed. I only contributed to glasses if they were for "first time" wearers. However I was more than happy to pay for the tests regardless. Re the contribution toward glasses if you have a set amount ie £50, then the employee will know that, that is all they will be getting, irrespective or whether they wish to wear a £40 frame or something by Hugo Boss.

Try the Specsavers voucher scheme The voucher entitles the holder to a full eye-examination (up to a value of £25) and a £45 pair of glasses or contribution towards glasses if required specifically or solely for VDU use.
