I have a contractor to do the 14 monthly check, but now the company want us to do it in house. The company has he machine to check the air flow etc, my question is, do we need to send maintenance on a course

i worked with LEV (Bakery) and have looked into this it is a very complicated subject and the LEV is affected by a lot of variables you can get courses which are run by the BOHS and cost approx £1000 5 day course http://www.bohs.org/educ...nations/course-providers who ever does it must be very good at maths as there is a lot (and i mean a lot) of calculations involved we looked quite deeply at this and in the end we decided to stay with a outside contractor to do our check hope this helps

Terry You can make it complicated or keep it simple. First thing I would do in your place is to download HSG258 from the HSE website. I think that you will find the answers you need in that 109 page guide to controlling airborne exposure. If you still have questions give me a call on 01386 832 311 Chris
