Hi Everyone,

I am starting to experience on the bigger sites the enforcement of the face fit testing/dust masks for obvious reasons to limit the dust inhaled. Operatives using sawing/cutting equipment have dust extractors on their tools but there may still be some particles of dust. How do we approach this when for religious reasons/traditions or otherwise operatives have facial hair, do not want to shave it off and equally do not want to wear the bigger cumbersome face masks/or all in one head pieces?

Any constructive feedback welcome.

Sorry but the answer is if you can’t reduce the dust levels to something safe, are unable to face-fit a negative press face piece to staff and are unwilling to give a positive pressure hood type RPE a try then you have to take these people off that work.
It’s one of those situations where you can’t work around it and you just have to say no.
