Hi,

I have been invited to a job interview for the role of HSEQ manager for a waste management company. My experience and background is in the construction and demolition industries so am just looking for tips from anyone who may have experience in a similar role to the one I'm being interviewed for.

Thanks

Mike

Mike

Waste management is a very wide topic! So what types - roadside collections?, energy from waste?, transfer staions?, landfilling? etc.

Have a look at the BOMEL research done for HSE and all the WISH guidance.

www.hse.gov.uk/waste

Key topics include workplace transport, machinery, sheeting, manual handling, noise, health hazards.

Other useful information at http://www.esauk.org/

Hi Mike,

Hope I am not too late. If you already had your interview in that case good luck.

I worked in waste management in past.

The main focus of the most waste management sites is Environmental safety or compliance.

The environment agency has very hands on approach very unlike HSE.

Some of the things to look for

Environmental permit compliance

CAR reports of operator

EMS (environment Management system) and ISO14001.

The biggest health and safety hazard I found to be yard safety with vehicles moving near operators.

Hope this help.

If you have specific question about it PM me.

Good Luck

Zan
