Do I need PASMA for a podium?

We are looking at buying a number of podium steps with a platform height of 750mm and a working height of 2.75m. Do our operatives need a PASMA ticket for this? The product is fully PAS 250 compliant.

Like most pieces of work equipment, there are requirements for (Suitable & Sufficient) training.
Although PASMA is not a legal requirement, if you were to go out 'on site' to some locations, they may require Low Level PASMA Training. Many of the larger construction companies stipulate this as a minimum.
If it's just for use in house at your place, then no, there is no legal requirement.
There are also plenty of low level fold out scaffold towers on the market which might give you more flexibility, dependent on the room available.

As with any workplace equipment they will need to be trained and found to be competent as per PUWER, but doubt that PASMA training would be essential. As per Frank, much would depend on thew type of work being carried out etc I guess. I've sent you a PM with some info that might be of use.

Podium Ladder users do not need PASMA training. Although I would suggest that you treat them the very same as other ladders and have the tags and checks in place.
