I am looking to evaluate TIG welders competence against a standard, so I am looking for examples of checklists that may already exist. Nothing too indepth required, I have the basic structure in mind, but am looking for any real examples of what is already in use. Many thanks Mark.

I reckon there are at least two aspects here 1. are the welders competent enough to avoid injury to themselves and others, and avoid setting light to the building? 2. are the welders sufficiently competent to produce a weld that has structural integrity? The former is a relatively easy checklist. The latter depends a great deal on what they are welding and the consequences of errors.

Thanks for the input Jane, we have an extremely low accident rate and our quality standards are exeptional.

But is it a quality standard you will be using or a welding standard? which they are numerous? Or a welder qualification? www.svets.se/over is a good source for welding std info.

Is this in relation to BS EN 1090?
