I have been asked to carryout the Risk Assessments for a small club. Can anyone give me some pointers as to how much I should charge them for the initial setting up and then the reviewing of there systems and files.

Steve thanks for taking the time to answer. Its a golf Club. I have taken a cursory look at the Health and Safety File and it is in my view lacking depth in its assessments. They state Yes or No but haven't justified there answers. There policy doc is one page that is really a information note with no real substance.

I would think they do need some professional assistance then - lots of activites both indoor and out.

I presume you are there for a reason - might be a starting point regarding 'help' on offer - of course paying due respect to Mr Osbourne.

There are quite a few cases to do with golf clubs -overturning machinery etc. Might be worth putting a short note of concerns regarding the management of OSH (if there are any) to the committee.

Probably a day or two to give it a good look and draft revised policies? Any other 'eagles' care to pitch in or is this issue too rough to drive some comments out of the bunkers?

If licenced the there are the Licensed Premise Risk Assessments to do as well. The food angle can also present issues unless well set up as a restaurant. Reminds me of the old saying that I would not join a club that would accept me as a member.

Are you a consultant ? With insurance ? Either way the charge should include a contribution towards this ( and for a period of time into the future )

Just a thought

Chris
