I am looking for a database of offshore legislation from all over the world that can help me establish what our regulatory obligations are in any given country of offshore operations and for notifications everytime the legislation is amended.

Does anybody know of a good provider of this service?

Hi J,
Have a go at the Interrnational Regulators Forum-it is made up of 11 countries with significant offshore operations.
HSE is our rep in this forum-see reference on the HSE website under International liaison from which you can access the IRF's website and links to conferences and contacts.
Failing that the ILO may also be worth contacting as might the EU's office in London-if its still there
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike

Thanks for that. I had already seen those two suggestions however the ILO website tended to focus on land based legislation and the Interantional Regulators forum is only going to be good for any regulators participating in it. Im am investigating into what the International Marine Organization and International Association of Drilling Contractors has too but no such luck right now.

Thanks for your suggestions

It is unlikely that any of the international trade associations/bodies have the capability you seek. You could contact IHS as IHS provides a variety of bespoke services to its clients, but that they are likely to charge at the top end.

It may be best if you contacted them and specified your requirements.

Most of the contributers to this form will only be aware that the so called "Technical Indexes"database is from IHS , but IHS has a huge portfolio of services & products!

Hi you could try enhesa.com - outsource to them if your budget will allow.

Hi again J,
How is your search going?
I checked on the ILO database-[as I did some work for them in Malaysia] They do provide offshore stuff but again it seems to be a subscription service.
In the same situation as you I used to contact the embassy/high commission/Employers/Employees organisation for the country of concern which is ok for such as Sweden as you often get the info and in English too. I guess you are not so lucky. How are your contacts?
Depends a lot on your company or organisation and the finance available/ URS are ok too [ex employee!] But fiendishly expensive!
Also the ITF -International Transport Workers Federation have a good research outfit but depends on your organisation's view of unions. I would try them. These problems are always interesting
Still, best regards, hope you get it sorted.
Mike
