This is not about Health and Safety per se but it does mention it and I do like the phrase “a one-size-fits-all risk assessment solution” which as members of this forum will know is not really a risk assessment.

I can relate to that.
Many organisations equate a disabled person to someone in a wheel chair.

If you ain't in a wheel chair you don't count!

While it is clearly a serious issue, I couldn't help smiling at the well-meaning but inappropriate behaviour. Whatever happened to personal initiative?!

Concerning that the headline for this article on the sidebar of today's bbc news homepage is "health and safety".

Trouble is as a wheelchair user many facilities are actually unsuitable for wheelchairs. Strictly one can argue that these silly rules are in themselves discriminatory as they make things significantly morre difficult for disabled persons than able persons.

The message is that if you want to make strict rules beware of unintended effects.
