I understand the requirement for businesses to use competent contractors. Just after peoples views on the following. We have some painting and decorating work due to be carried out at a large office. Will be carried out by an external contractor. Basically painting internal office walls. Dont think theres a need for work platforms to reach areas of height, just standard step ladders etc. Probably a weeks worth of work for a two man team. The question of competence has arose and what level of evidence of such competency (if any) should be provided by the contractor for this type of work? What sort information would you ask for to ensure the said contractors can prove competency to carry out such a task?
