I am looking confirm my understanding on the requirement for fire doors in corridors. The scenario is a long corridor (circa 30 metres) in a primary school with a fire resistant door at each end. Is there a requirement to provide and additional door in between?

I have looked at the HM Guide for fire risk assessment in education and this seems to have the answer.

Having raised this and then found the answer could you share it?
The forum should have rules about this sort of teasing!

Apologies, I did not realising I was 'teasing' by not revealing the answer. In summary; where the corridor is more than 30 metres long it should be subdivided near the centre with smoke / fire resisting doors. The complete text is more detailed but readers can find it in the guide ( I don't waqnt to breach copyright).

They may need to be double swing doors depending on the means of escape.

Don't forget if you create a fire resisting compartment to ensure it is also compartmented above and laterally.
