Not sure how to phrase the question but essentially the company is going take over a building which has undergone a fire risk assessment.
One of the observations is that some doors should be fire rated, existing fire doors are incomplete (no intumescent strips or partially so), damaged ill fitting fire doors.
The Fire Risk Assessor has recommended that a fire door survey be completed - I'm willing to do this but am having trouble identifying the necessary competence from the list (on google) of all the carpenters stating they fit or fix fire doors.
What qualifications should I be looking for and is there an association which lists competent carpenters?
Thanks for any help.

Rich, at the risk of advertising and promoting an organisation (I'm not) you might try Checkmate Fire. Their website may give you a start point.

There are labels on fire doors, should be on the top edge.
Look at that and it may tell you who the manufacture was, they will be able to assist if you contact them.

To find a competent installer who may be able to carry out the fire door survey, Google "accredited fire door installers scheme" and choose a chippy from one of the many schemes available
