Hydraulic Pile Crusher (approx 1 tonne) is attached to an excavator suspended by chains and linked into the hydraulic system of the excavator, resulting in the Hydraulic Pile Crusher becoming apart of the excavator.
Would this need a lifting plan?

Hi Phil, IMHO no a lift plan would not be required as the pile muncher is an attachment for the excavator rather than a load. I have often used this type of equipment in the past and relied on a detailed risk assessment and method statement to carry out the task. Good luck.

Hi John,
Yes my thoughts as I'm an AP as well as HSE Practitioner.
Client wants lift plan as its apart of their SSOW and daily lifting permit (Gas & Oil), so we had to complete it anyway.
Thanks for keeping my sanity with your answer, Gas & Oil different ball game.
