We provide first-aid cover at events, including some at popular music concerts (;-)) where sound pressure levels can be high to say the least, not to mention Silverstone. One of my team has mentioned an issue with ear-defenders; glasses frames compromise the attenuation of the models he's aware of. I'm new to the world of dangerous noise levels, and this strikes me as perculiar; wearing glasses isn't that unusual, surely PPE manufacturers have taken this into account? If this is really an issue in people's experience, what do we do about it? And are there over-ear defenders which are optimised for glasses wearers? John

John In an industrial setting, safety glasses can come with very thin side arms (that don't compromise the muff seal around the ear) but this option may not be acceptable in your setting. Are there any ear plugs which offer enough protection? LB

John Work out what SNR you need for each event - this is the amount of noise reduction you need - and then ask a reputable supplier what they would recommend - could be plugs or banded hearing protection. Ian
