Hi Everyone Happy Wednesday.... im wondering what the criteria is for reporting accident relases of Asbestos in occupied premisies? If anyone can offer advice based on experience of something similar or could diretc me in the right direction on the HSE website . . .Ive had a fruitless search this morning and was hoping someone out there can help many thanks in advance L

It should be reported under RIDDOR as a dangerous occurrence on form F2508DOE. It should be reported the person in charge of the premises. You can do this online on the HSE website.

Oh sorry. Just read the question again. I would assume if the accidental release exceded the specified workplace exposure limit as stated in Control of Asbestos at work regulations 2012 then it should be reported as a dangerous occurence.

Paulw71 - many thanks for quick response and like wise to CHAS . . . Paulw71, workplace exposure limit being 0.01 f/m3 Below that reading acceptable above not acceptable . . .?

That would be my understanding and interpretation of when to report.
