Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help?
A Colleague from another site has told me that the lift company who installed their lift have written to state there is a major safety flaw which needs to be rectified as it is an electrocution hazard.
They have been in contact to sort out getting this work done, but have said there will be a large charge for the work to be done.
Can they do this? I have never been involved in this sort of thing so would appreciate some advice.
Thank you

It depends on whether this is a design fault, a build fault, an installation fault, a maintenance fault, a user fault or a third party fault, and also the terms of the contracts in force.
I doubt you will be able to get a definitive answer here as there are so many unknowns.

Thanks David
They have stated it is a product upgrade to avoid a potentially serious safety impact- as I say I know nothing of lifts- I will ask my colleague to try and get some more information about it.
