Just had 2 huge 47 kg units set up on a site we're on within a school - aware of the fire hazards; carbon monoxide; adequate segregation unit and cylinder; earthing issues - there anything else I need to be aware of ?
We're subbies on site and this is a PC issue no management at all; but giving them a heads up I'd like as much detail as possible.
Many thanks folks

I think the main thing is keep them as far away from people as possible. If you can, place them in a corner with metal barriers around, and of course well away from flammables and combustibles.
If you have a Hot work permit handy tou could use that as a guide to your precautions, not as a Hot work permit but simply for some guidance.
Don't leave them on overnight, unless night working in the premises.
Take care and stay warm.

Hi Nimble
Keep the units away from each other.
Keep flammable liquids and combustibles away from the units.
Ensure people are a safe distance away - use barriers.
Check for any damage to the units - any service records?
Any cables that could be a tripping hazard?
Thanks

Like all gas appliances have they been serviced by a reputable gas safe LPG registered engineer. Once on site have the been checked for leaks - I assume they still use bottled gas on these units with flexible hosing.

Only other things I would add are: -
1) they need to be stored upright whether they're empty or full
2) frosting on them isn't a problem
3) if they do leak at all the gas will go down the way, as it has a specific gravity of 1.5 (1.5 times denser than air), so no storing in or above basement areas
Hope this is of use

You will also need to check with yoir insurers as there may be a clause that excludes certain types of heaters on site.
