Morning folks, Hoping someone can help, as we know we have RTITB (rider trucks), PASMA (scaffold towers) and IPAF (Access platforms) etc & whilst I understand that these are not all considered statutory but best practice, is there one for operating heavy lifting kit also? Not much experience is assessing competence in this field so looking for some help on this. Had a run through LOLER, unless I missed it couldn't see anything specific. Thanks all

Have you looked at these people? http://www.npors.com/ or http://www.citb.co.uk/tr...nH7OXB_8ICFSYIwwodpAYALA Not shore if either is exactly what you are looking for. Have used a citb trainer for some plant training in past and he was very good.

can you be more specific? are we talking about gantry cranes? are they cab or pendant/remote? if so try the LEEA Lifting Equipment Engineers Association or ALLMI. If you're looking for training and assessment, as a customer I can highly recommend Mentor Training based in Chesterfield.

Hi, It's mainly gantry cranes. The comments have been really helpful however, so many thanks for your help I appreciate you taking the time to reply, it's given me some good avenues of research in terms of what to look for. I'm not really looking for a training provider as such, I'm reviewing some current standards at one of our contract sites. As I said, some of the other schemes such as IPAF for MEWPS are useful whilst not statutory are often seen as best practice, and I was looking for similar for lifting kit of this nature. As well as all the LOLER requirements of course. Thanks

Might be worth a read through this too? http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/l113.pdf Gantry cranes get a mention on page 53 relating to installation and inspection requirements. I'll also send you a PM with some additional info which may be of interest for you.
