What!!! (my response to the moderators reply)
I think that this is a great idea. IOSH should be about consultation and a dedicated forum for this would be ideal for healthy debate on such a topic.
I'm not in construction so cannot contribute to this forum, but why can IOSH not do this?
I also think it should be in the Members Section as well.
Moderators - please take this seriously - surely a topic like this merits over topics such as 'how old are safety professionals' or 'what music do you like'!!! and if you don't have the tools to do this you must know who has the tools to do it.
What a poor response.

It is not the case that the request has been disregarded. The forums work on a limited number of zones that are controlled by IOSH and not the moderators. Our message is that making such changes is beyond the scope of the moderators and that changes to the forums require a lot more than a simple request to IOSH from us.
From past experience we know that making changes to the current forum design/software is, at best, problematic due to both its age and original design. This means that even with a significant amount of demand/support for any changes they do not happen easily or overnight.
We trust this clarifies our response

Hi Mod Team,
Just a suggestion, could you make a 'sticky' with CDM as the subject with a link to the consultation documentation?

Can I suggest an update to the forum software then?
The forum software that we use on the forum that I am part of running (I will NOT post details on here, but it is electrical based), this would be a simple thing to do, and yes the software is legitimate, supported and business standard.
Oh, it also has an edit post facility! ;)
In fact it makes the IOSH Forum Software look like it was written in the Dark Ages. Oh, and yes it IS used by many private and commercial forums all over the Internet, and YES it is secure, and I suspect that it has a much easier moderator & admin UI. Yes it is regularly updated, and yes it is supported by its authoring company, and yes it is legitimate.

If you look carefully you will see a sticky (so they obviously can be done) at the top of this discussion forum from IOSH IT which says the forums were being updated - this notice was "only" issued some seven months ago.
