Hi Has anyone used or come into contact with 'Virtual Risk Manager - FLT'? A system that uses on-line questions and scenarios to determine if your FLT drivers are high, medium or low risk.

Hi Polo,
We've used an AA one for car driving and I assume it would work on the same principles. Think of all the aspect of the work that could increase the risk...
Length of shift Age / experience of driver Lighting / Temp conditions Loads carried / distances carried Work surface Blind corners One way / two way traffic Pedestrians present Past incidents of poor behaviour / incidents !!!!
Etc Etc
There'll be some sort of algorithm used to give you a numerical rating of some kind. It worked pretty well for our drivers but once we'd done it for one year we decided it could be easily done in-house

I Googled it and on the front cover is an example of the FLT operator's Likert 5 point scale questionnaire as follows:
Do you ever drive with an elevated or unstable load? Do you ever lift loads on unstable pallets? Do you ever carry loads that block you visibility?
Call me cynical if you like, but I doubt if anyone has failed this test.
