I know there a few regulars on here that travel quite a bit, so a question for you:
What do your employers do in relation to insurance when you are travelling??
My employers have decided not to provide any travel insurance, or insurance for loss or damage to personal possessions when on business across off the mainland UK, Europe and further afield. From now, we have to make our own arrangements.
I would be interested in what your employers do for you in relation to travel & personal insurance when you are away from home?

Had a very enlightened employer with a corporate wide policy covering everything - all travellers issued with an insurance card before travel with annual updates issued. Company Credit card had one of those card protection schemes included at company expense for lost passport, personal cards, personal money etc.
Current employer issues nothing but thankfully travel is now solely UK based so motor vehicle policy / Hotel Proprietors gives some minimal recourse for personal possessions.
When you say "own arrangements" are you allowed to claim back for example annual personal travel cover as expenses and more importantly when travelling "further afield" have they also eliminated medical cover & repatriation? - Personally I wouldn't leave home without it...even with my EHIC packed.
Have they suggested what if scenarios or do they really expect you to meet clients / colleagues in only the clothes you arrive in on multiple overnight trips?
Sounds once more of someone knowing the "cost" without appreciating the "value".
