Hi Everyone.

I am looking at a role in the public sector and require some information on internal audits for Highways and Home Care. I have searched the internet, but haven't seemed to find what I am looking for. If anyone has an audit, information of an audit or any further information that you think may be of help, please let me know.

Many thanks in advance.

Spidey sense tingling...With the greatest of respect and I don't mean this the way it sounds and don't mean to offend but...if you have no experience in either how can you audit? The Care home and community care is a combination of CQC and HSE guidance...this includes items such as controlled drugs etc etc...which if you are asking you probably are not really in a position to audit..

I advise that U ask the parties concerned as to what specific aspects of each area U will be concerned with so as U can set up your audit parameters from there noting as Steve has said the care sector is very complicated and personal in most cases to say the least plus the various non H&S parties are very very very protective of their own. Home care can be a simple visit to somebody of sound minds etc. with a small but complicated cut in a private home to full sheltered housing so U need to know the difference

Highways is much simpler than the care sector as its 'simply' construction set on the highway but having chapter 8 in place is nothing like having a real proper fence around a construction site so again there are differences especially where the general public is present who think that they can do what they like plus very poor drivers disregarding speed limits and wizzing past workers!

Do not despair as we all had to start somewhere and councils usually have supporting colleagues and are not, in my experience, as tight in their systems as private companies when it comes to H&S & ask this site again once U have more info
