Hi All,
I am looking for a illustrated flow chart which shows how the qualitative risk analysis techniques are interrelated to the quantitative techniques.
Appreciate any help/reference in this regard.
Regards,
Prads

I have never seen such a flow chart. In my experience quantitative techniques are usually used for complex tasks and scenarios with multiple hazards. I have used qualitative techniques for much simpler tasks as it is quick and easy. I have never used qualitative techniques to feed into a quantitative risk assessment.

Agree, never seen such a chart.
The best I can suggest that there is an HSE document that summarises when to use qualitative risk assessments and when to use quantified risk assessment.
Sorry don't remember where it is - think its in the 'offshore' bit of HSE guidance.
Basicalyy qualitative is used when a design is familiar with established engineering techniques.
Quantified risk assessment is used for new technqiues/new technolgies
Although this isn't always true

And qualitative assessments are used in special needs and similar very complex human areas that have to rely on experience and opinion alone in most situations
