We have staff who visited people's homes as part of their jobs. If they are abusive or violent we can put them on our system to warn colleagues etc if they had to revisit the premises. Under The DPA we then have to write to them to inform the that we have data on them. It is being suggested that it is signed by the H&S department ,which I am not keen on. I feel I will get bombarded with calls from not very nice people....me thinks it should be chief executive or someone of similar status.i would be interested to know what happens in other organisations please...thanks in advance

Agreed. A Senior Manager/Executive/CE should be signing as Data Controller for the Organisation.

Well yes but... one way you can possibly get around it is by saying that call is a higher risk than the others due to the increase instances of violence/abuse. You don't necessarily have to name the individual just the call (employees temporary workplace). There are different systems that work in NHS/Ambulance trusts...PM me.
