Hi everyone I am reviewing the safety glasses we use in the factory and workshop on site and am trying to find the best priced prescription safety glasses supplier. So far I have prices from Specsavers and Boots but I am just wondering if anyone uses a different company to supply prescription safety glasses. Also, has anyone had any issues with either Specsavers or Boots with prescription safety glasses?

Also interested in this. It's a new area to me and I have a member of staff requiring prescription safety glasses. Following.

Afternoon All, I've used both Specsavers and Boots as our provider, and personally found the specsavers ones to be perfectly adequate and the cheapest around. However...... they do look very old fashioned, and following a lot of complaints from the shop floor (supposedly about the effect they have on peripheral vision) we have recently started providing Boots (Bolle), ones which are a lot more expensive but do look better. I've kept wearing my original Specsavers pair. Steve.

I have used Specsavers and Boots and find Specsavers to be the better of the two. However, even for Specsavers it's obviously not the core of their business and so choices are limited. Regards

Be very careful about buying on price. The default Specsaver "safety glasses" have low impact grade lenses. Their impact grade suitable for (say) an engineering workshop are more expensive.

Thanks for the comments. I have stumbled across a site called eyecareplans.co.uk They offer prescription glasses but also have prescription eye shield that looks good.... http://www.eyecareplans....otective-Eyecare/Equinox Has anybody used these before? They are on 50% discount at £39.50 (inc VAT) until April 30th apparently too. Thanks

There is no mention of the impact grade so be careful. Also the graphic (flying sparks & glasses): anyone who worked like that here, would get a piece of my mind. Glasses are not acceptable for that task.
