Rank: Forum user

Hi All,
Just doing a little research, does anyone have any examples of companies being pined or prosecuted for stress or mental health related reasons?
Thanks for all your help.

Although mental health is implied in health, safety and welfare legislation there is no explicit regulations dealing with work related stress. The main driver is civil law. The seminal case of Walker v Northumberland County Council (1995) the court decreed that mental health injury had the same standing as a physical injury.
Some other cases have provided a milestone in work related stress - Sutherland v Hatton and others (2002) and Barber v Somerset County Council (2004). Happy reading.
