Does anyone have any technical data on Cuplock scaffolding? I have an issue on site with misalignment The standards do not connect correctly as the spigot appears to be too small. The result is a misalignment of up to approx. 6mm in some joints, one standard does not sit on top of the other correctly. I've had a look at various websites but I have not been able to get the info I need. Before anyone states the obvious and refers me to a competent scaffold inspector I'm in the Middle East. Thanks in advance for any help.

The manufacture is probably your best bet. I would check that it is not two different makes mixed up or there are cheap copies of the original make mixed in. Like all scaffolding cuplock scaffolding can be mistreated, well use and can just come to the end of their useable life. Too battered to put up correctly.

What you need is a copy of the manufacturers user guide. I would have thought you could have downloaded one off the internet or ask your supplier for a copy. allan

Both the cuplock system and the NSG Plettac system have suffered with pirate copies from the far east over the years. I rather suspect that you have some pirated copies mixed with genuine. Tube wall thickness is sometimes an obvious sign but this is not a general rule. These copies were sold at a reduced price compared to the genuine and many purchasing departments were seduced into a purchase.

Thanks all If anyone knows a scaffolder who is trained to inspect Cuplock I think they will have the answer on the tolerance issue The user manual and company expert have not been any help I already tried that approach before I posted. A lot of things are copied in the Middle East and I think boblewis is correct. Poor equipment is the cause. Thanks all
