Hi, I've done all my courses including the Diploma by e-learning or distance learning as I am self funding so have no other choice as this is the cheapest option. Studying this way is very hard, particularly the Diploma as there is so much you need to learn and it did take me a lot longer to complete than if I had attended a classroom environment (working and kids takes a lot of my time). You will need to do more of your own research for areas you may otherwise learn from a classroom. It is possible if you are motivated and willing to put in a lot more hours than the recommended hours for each unit. Find an e-learning course that gives you access to a tutor whenever you need.

I have completed several courses this way and as alluded to by the previous poster it does require more discipline with regards to the study. However, it also offers the advantages of more flexibility and generally lower cost. In my experience the better the learning materials provided the better the learning experience is. My advice would be to try and do some research and check the reviews/experiences of others who have used the training provider you intend to use. Regards

there is also a blended version which I am doing, where I have a week of classroom learning for each unit and the rest e-learning- so in a way you get the best of both? It is a bit more expensive than e-learning alone but cheaper than a lot of classroom based courses.
