Looking for a little advice on a workplace welfare scenario. The kitchen in an upstairs office in our company is going to be refurbished and therefore closed over a number of weeks. It contains the usual basic items only; sink/kettle/fridge/microwave/crockery (it is not a dining kitchen). During the refurbishment, we want to create a temporary facility in aclose-by office to give staff the ability to make tea/coffee and their 'taken in' food as usual. We will reduce the impact by piping a cold water rising supply to the room for refilling the kettle, making disposable plates/cups available, ensuring ventilation is adequate. Some questions arising.. (1) Since we do not provide a dining kitchen, we would like staff to continue to take their 'taken in' food out of the fridge and prepare it (heating in microwave/possibly washing it). Does anyone know of any temporary facility that can provide a sink/worktop, perhaps with a 'slops' facility underneath to catch any small washing operations? We would then arrange for the Cleaners to remove the slops each night/clean the surfaces etc. (2) We would rather people don't microwave and transport hot food from the next nearest operational kitchen (a fair distance away through at least 4 doors and around corners). This reduces the risk of spillages/scalds on that long journey. Request any other ideas to assist with the safe temporary preparation of hot food in the temporary area. (3) Any other hazards/compliance issues from the proposed temporary move? Thanks.

If you're going to the effort of plumbing in a water supply, why not simply install a sink? http://www.nisbets.co.uk...01/ProductDetail.raction If it's the waste drain that's the problem, stick a waste pump on. Anywhere you can get a water main in you can get a pumped drain out, I think. http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p84986 http://www.heatandplumb....ishower_Mini_Shower.html

As Achrn says why not install a sink in a cheep unit (your fitting a tap anyway). You could always put one of those caravan wheeled waste containers underneath (easy enough to empty).

Thanks for your input. We'll look into those options.
