I have a new client and he is a gardener. He purchases most of his products from B&Q and other DIY stores etc. As he is employing more workers over the summer months he asked me to look at his chemicals for weed killing and insect killers etc. When I look at the labelling on the products they do not comply with the CLP Regulation and just has a simple Risk and Safety Information label with the simple instructions of Do not breath in spray, If swallowed seek advice and environmental info. Is this the normal labelling for this type of product that's purchased by the general public.

Quick answer yes. Customer products carry safety information on the label. CLP only kicks in for manufacturers of formulations on 1st June 2015 AND for materials already in the supply chain e.g. on the shelves at B&Q if sufficient stocks are held these do not legally require CLP pictograms etc. until 1st June 2017 (the transition period) - ECHA web site carries the abridged guidance for the regulations
