Are mobile phones & PDA's 'display screen equipment' under the regs?

"display screen equipment" means any alphanumeric or graphic display screen, regardless of the display process involved;" so yes, they are. However, you'll have a job interpreting large parts of the ACOP in the context of mobile phones/pdas. Just do a risk assessment and make some provision to limit risk and you'll be fine,

Not in any practical sense. It isn't useful to apply the definition of dse without considering the definition of workstation. and the Schedule associated with Regulation 3.

The question of provision of free eyecare is usually up for debate of course..................!
