Hi, I'm hoping someone out there can help. I'm introducing a speed awareness training session for all our fleet drivers to focus of driving behaviours. We all ready have tracker system in vehicles and we monitor the speeds. I'm looking for a short video (free would be good but willing to purchase) of footage of accidents and their consequences to others after the event. I've been on a few driving seminars where videos are used to put the point across. Wait in anticipation!!!!!! Neil

There are a fair number of hard-hitting videos on Youtube posted by Winnepeg Police Dept. - real emphasis on aftermath.

There was recently a TV programme showing real dashboard camera footage of general driver behaviour, it was shocking to see the everyday stuff drivers do. I think it was channel 5 if you could maybe find it on catch up? As a result of watching that programme I have now installed dash cams to our two cars and there are some very close calls on there already. You may be able to make your drivers aware of the many dash cams about now and their actions may be caught on camera and if at fault causing an accident the film will be used as evidence.

Try getting in touch with your local fire department to see if they'd be willing to help out with a seat belt sled, beer goggles etc - might be good alternative to videos?

I have used the videos produced by the road safety charity Brake :- http://www.brake.org.uk/ They used to issue a free DVD, but these days their videos are freely available on YouTube, where they have their own channel :- https://www.youtube.com/user/BrakeGlobal You will find a range of different road safety subjects covered in the different videos, with new ones being added from time to time. Look for the video's with "story" in the title. They are only 3 or 4 minutes long, but very powerful, being told by close relatives or emergency service personnel involved in fatal incidents.
