I would be gratful for any help from either the Sikh Community, or persons who have been involved in procuring PPE for Sikhs. I am trying to obtain a full face safety visor (EN166:3) for a Sikh collegue that can be worn in conjunction with his Turban. All our regular suppliers seem to use semi rigid plastic head fittings wich do not fit when a Turban is worn. The only alternative I have seen so far are visors that clip onto the bottoms of goggles, which are also not suitable as any liquid splash tends to then run down the inside of the visor and because they lack a brow gaurd there is a risk of splashes soaking into the Turban. Chris, what is it that warrants these controls, and how is it splashing? e.g. is it a mild acid etch used in commercial pressure washing subject to the vaguries of wind in an open yard or another agent that could be better controlled eliminating any need for such PPE? Must concur that in the past where a full face visor had been identified the only solution we ended up with was goggles + attachment (similar to a moto-cross mask) for a colleague wearing a turban, but then this was a control measure "in case" rather than an activity with the potential to regularly soak the turban.

Hi All, I'm no expert in this kind of thing but while doing my year out from Uni I lived in a shared house with a Sikh chap. Most days he wore what we all probably consider to be a standard Turban however during evenings and some nights out he wore a much smaller one which seemed to be little more than one layer of tight fitting material covering his head and holding all his hair in a bun on top. Perhaps his is a possibility ??? Andy
