Hi all

Just a quick query for intrigue purposes more than anything else. I was recently in Jamaica on my honeymoon and whilst not actively there with my safety head on, couldn't help but notice a distinct lack of H&S, both on resort and out and about and on excursions.

Upon digging I believe they are still using a version of the old Factories Act? Does anyone know if this is indeed the legislation they use in Jamaica and it will be updated at all?

I can't help thinking you should have had more enjoyable things on your mind, when on your honeymoon.....

....just realised how that post may have made me look now! Trust me my thinking was done whilst on a boat in the middle of a tropical storm and on a coach driving on the wrong side of the road - both moments that were not enjoyable!

I bet the new Mrs Pownall would not be impressed.

I know a good divorce lawyer if you need one...

Hi, I have worked in Jamaica and can confirm that most of their laws are paid lip service but loosely based upon older UK/American laws

Now do a risk assessment for the hazards and risks involved in honeymooning and you will realise that the risk is tolerable......

The hazards and risks from marriage are totally unacceptable and intolerable.

I noticed the same in Egypt recently, but as I have been married 35 years, have managed to cut myself some slack!
