Looking for some research to support the talk of fire risk around recycling 9v PP3 batteries - terminals shorting and battery overheating.

I've seen the videos from the US on you tube, and talk on forums.

Personally it appears to be a exceptionally low risk when a 9v PP3 battery is discarded into a designed plastic recycling station.

I can think of many ways to mitigate, although before I send the business into a spin I like to consider any research if available.

Nearest I have found to date is from West Yorkshire Fire Service.

I'd be grateful of any support or a point in the correct direction.

Many thanks
