Hi

I'm putting together information on the potential consequences of management failing to follow health and safety advice, particularly around fire safety.

Does anyone have any useful links or know of any articles?

I was in the same boat until recently, when management / employer terminated my employment without warning. I am now having to go to an employment tribunal...the continuous joys of a safety practitioner. The experience however, has opened my eyes and taught me a lot. Regarding fire safety; the first step is to contact the local fire service (openly or on the QT) and ask them to conduct an audit in line with the Fire Reform Act, if one hasn't been done. This is a legislative requirement and will identify fire non-compliances to management and give a period to rectify. The Public Information Disclosure (PID) Act advises if you feel you have to deal with the fire brigade behind managements back, so to speak. If an audit has been done and management are still ignoring, then next step is to raise a concern with the HSE.
