Has anyone any details of a supplier that could assist me with purchasing safety footwear for employees that cannot wear 'off the rack' safety shoes due to medical reasons? I have recently started in a new role and have discovered 3 members of staff are walking into production areas without safety shoes due to ailments, which they have supplied doctors letters for, to exempt them from wearing normal purchased steel toe cap shoes or boots. I have stopped this practice but have been asked to find a solution.

Hi Mike, Do you use an occupational health service at all? They make have the type of contact that you require. Failing that, contact one of the big H&S retailers (Arco, just to mention one on may available) and speak with your local rep, they may be able to help, or point you in the right direction. I haven't ever come across this issue, so can't say with any certainty, but that is what I would do. Pete

Give Essex Packaging a try- they were very good when I needed safety shoes for the people in the warehouse I was working in/alongside
