Hi, Is a ride on floor scrubber subject to the same frequency of training as MHE with refreshers or would it just fall under a "safe system of work"?

Hi Lisa It would not be subject to L117 (ACOP and Guidance) on Lift truck training, but it would be subject to PUWER, so you would need to ensure sufficient training for operators to be able to use it safely. Ian

Lisar, with my previous employer the training (and refresher) was similar (and scheduled along with) that of non-lifting MHE (pallet trucks, order pickers etc.). In terms of controls: PUWER inspection every 12 months, maintenance inline with manuf. recommendations, risk assessment and procedure on safe use (to include the removing/handling/installation of LPG bottles, if yours is LPG powered like a lot of them are).
