Hi I hold a stand alone H&S role in a large organisation, we frequently send colleagues to other sites globally but there is no corporate EH&S travel policy. I want to put one together for our own site, any ideas on what I should cover. My thinking is it needs to cover national/international travel. Driving, dangers of the country, emergency numbers, local contacts, common illnesses, advise on jetlag, driving while tired/other side of the road. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks

ROSPA has a good section on driver safety that I've used extracts from in the past. They may be able to assist with your risk assessments and putting together a programme depending on the size of organisation you are dealing with. http://www.rospa.com/road-safety/

You'll also need to consider local legislation. I believe it is a legal requirement in some EU countries to have a breathalyser, warning triangle and hivis vest kept in the glove box (not the boot like most of us do in the UK). These links have a great little breakdown of what you must consider carrying with you by each country: http://www.theaa.com/mot...compulsory_equipment.pdf http://www.theaa.com/mot...ompulsory_equipment.html
