Company I work at use Premixes...Currently they use a FFP2, and so far no complaints...but would the best place to make a decision on what is best suited, be from checking MSDS for exposure levels and previous dust assessments etc???

Yes - you need to know how much dust, against what exposure limits to assess how much protection is needed. And follow the guidance here: http://www.hse.gov.uk/pUbns/priced/hsg53.pdf

If your using it for protection against dust why not just go for a FFP3 mask which gives the greatest protection?
