We carry out audiometry testing shortly after a new employee starts work, but we do not have a set schedule of how often we should repeat the tests. I have looked through the ACoP and the HSE website, but I can't find a specific timeframe. Does anyone know where I can find this information, or can you tell me how often you carry out hearing tests (presuming the first test has not shown any issues)?

Your occupational health adviser should be advising you about this (you do have one ...?), but typically it is repeated after 1 year and thereafter done either annually or every 2 years dependent on risk.

Thanks Kate, yes we do have an Occ Health company that we use, but I don't think they are the best. We are high risk and our last repeat tests were carried out nearly 3 years ago.....

Have a look at Page 112 of HSE Publication L108 (http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/l108.pdf) which states the following in Appendix 5 which relates to Audiometry Testing Programmes
"The schedule of audiometric testing should include annual tests for the first
two years of employment and at three yearly intervals thereafter. More frequent
testing may be required if significant changes in hearing level are detected or
exposure conditions change, increasing the risk of hearing damage...."
