Morning all. We are looking at running a workshop / conference for middle management (supervisors, line leaders, JM's etc.). We want to get them engaged in H&S, not just because they have responsibility, but we really want to win hearts and minds. Does anyone have any suggestions for impactful and inspirational speakers we can use to help reinforce the message and improve our conference? Ian

We as a company have used Ken Woodward and his story in the past, certainly got everyone from Senior managers down thinking and acting differently.

Thanks for your responses. Yes, have used Ken in the past and this was very effective. In fact, the effectiveness of Ken is what has prompted this requested - we are keen to do something similar but possibly with another speaker who would have the same effect. I will have a look at the other suggestions - thanks for your time. If anyone else has any suggestions they will be most appreciated. Regards, Ian

It's quite 'traditional' to use speakers like Ken Woodward to bring home to a range of people to real impacts of serious injuries. Two excellent 'management level' motivational speakers who know what needs to be in place to prevent events whom I heard at a process safety event early this year are Ken Rivers (retired Shell manager with recent NZ experience, who linked safety leadership practices with what how the All Blacks achieve excellence - could be particularly topical after next Saturday?) and Paul Thomas (ex RN nuclear submarine commander, and lots of other key safety leadership roles since then).

Ian, Until not so long ago a coleague and I delivered a workshop in house around exactly what you're looking for. He's now left the business and working for himself and in doing so has reworked our original work shop. Nothing to do with me these days but have pm'd you his details Jim

We have used Paul Blanchard on a number of occassions and his story and the way he tells it has been highly effective.
