Week(s) 3 & 4
Continued to register on websites (lot of jobs repeated)
Called a number of agencies and companies to confirm CV’s received
Been to pub to quiz locals – (my favourite) – interestingly have a good lead from this
Attended local jobs fair – not a lot on offer
Had CV reviewed by peers – OK feedback
Positively had a number of organisations call with potential work though nothing concrete to-date.
Staying positive. Not giving up yet.

Hope this helps:
Don't trust agency bods to get back to you. Keep on their back. They work for you but tend to forget it!
Don't forget your local agency - even if they don't always deal with health and safety they may have leads or needs from regular customers.
How about getting some part time or contract work via an agency to tide you over? Good experience and often a nice day rate. 2 or 3 days a week would keep the wolf from the door and give you time to track down full time position ( or spend a couple of days on sofa ).
Get some business cards if you have the funds. Drive around to the biggest business's and see if you can see their safety managers. Offer some temp help ( paid of course ). I have got a few days work here and there like this and you make friends.
3 to 4 weeks seems a lot but not much really. I have regular periods out of work ( my choice ) and normally find it takes at least 6 to 7 weeks to get a bite.
I also found searching for jobs everyday was de-motivating after awhile. Same jobs come up again and again and it takes time for new positions to be posted. I used to search twice a week but checked my e-mail updates daily.
Keep on rocking.

I think this is an excellent stratagy I know it's worked for others in the past You never know where the next lead will come from
Living in Teeside you don't need me to tell you the jobs market is a bit rough at the moment.
