Hello,
I am looking for a practical training on carrying out noise surveys. The content of Arco 3 days Noise Assessment Course is on the line of what I am looking for. Unfortunately Arco do not take just one delegate.
Anybody know or can recommend a training provider? I am based in Sheffield.

Hi Bernie I did a short course with Castle Group: http://www.castlegroup.co.uk/I think they are based near Hull or Grimsby maybe. I can recommend them, the guy who delivers the course is called Simon I think and he was very good. BOHS also do a recognised noise competency course, HSE in Buxton do one. Leeds uni have a specialist noise lab there so they may do short courses. I also attended a seminar from INVC.co.uk (industrial noise and vibration center) A lady called Gill Cussons held the session and was very good - but they are based in Slough (may do training nationally though) good luck

I have trained with INVC in the past for Noise and HAV, you are correct the training is very good. They do cover the UK; I did one course in Leicester and the other in Manchester.
As is says on the BBC, “other providers are available”, but I would go back to these again.
