I work for an Organisation who acts as a Principal Contractor on occasion / Contractor on other occasions. I am updating our PQQ to PAS 91. In your opinion .... What would you consider are the Pros / Cons of adopting PAS 91 to a busy organisation ..... I look at PAS 91 optimistically. Tom.

Its easy to follow but depending on the contractor there may be a bit of fretting if they are smaller organisations as its seen as a lot of work where some info might not be relevant or they feel for the amount of work they get it's not worth the time. Bigger companies often have a pack based on PAS 91 that they will send out instead of filling out the paperwork but it holds all of their info. Personally I adopted ours a little bit so it included Asbestos Awareness training due to the nature of the sites etc. They are also good at requesting evidence

Hi Jodie
In relation to ... Core Question Module C4: Health and safety policy and capability.
Do you have many Contractors who ... "C4-Q1-1b. ... you have within the last twelve months, successfully met the assessment requirements of a construction-related scheme in registered membership of the Safety Schemes in Procurement SSIP) forum (see Annex C).
ie submit their SSIP Certificate (eg CHAS) and then are exempt from answering C4-Q2 to C4-Q17? Seems a great benefit to me?

We have a few that do but we also request they supply their Health and Safety Policy Statement to us as well. We do that for any types of evidenced accreditation provided i.e ISO, Safe Contractor, Constructionline etc, but stipulate to all contractors with more than 5 employees that they provide us with their Health and Safety Policy Statement also.
