Hi all,
Are there any courses other than the Nebosh construction that provide an industry respected qualification?
Not adverse to Nebosh obviously but was looking for a cheaper option.
Thanks.

You could try the CITB's Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or the shorter supervisors course (SSSTS).
As with most courses a lot depends on the tutor, but it does give some good practical info for managing construction risks, and the handouts/manuals are pretty good.
Also it gives a good understanding as to what your site managers are told when they attend this training.

It might also be worth noting that the SS/SMSTS courses are very widely accepted as the defacto ticket on construction projects now.
To the extent, in fact, that on at least one occasion that I've had site managers who would only accept SSSTS in the face of IOSH managing safely, a NEBOSH cert and relevant CSCS cards...
